The Bleecker Family of Dealerships has been taking care of North Carolina transportation needs since 1938. Fredrick Bleecker, grandfather of current owner and President Robert F. Bleecker Jr. opened a car dealership on Maxwell St in old Fayetteville lining the streets with prestigious Hudsons and Packards. In 1946 Robert Bleecker Sr. joined the business and along with his father they built a new dealership on East Russell St in downtown Fayetteville.
Robert F. "Bobby" Bleecker Jr. joined the business in 1964 and with his mother began selling Fiats and Jaguars. Then in 1979 Mr. Bleecker moved to Red Springs and opened Bleecker Olds/Buick/GMC with his mother, Jennie Bleecker.
Over the years the Bleecker Family has added locations to help service the North Carolina vehicle buying public. Currently the Bleecker Family of Dealerships has four locations stretching from Red Springs south of Fayetteville to Dunn in Harnett County to the north.
The family of franchises currently consists of GMC, Chevrolet, Buick and Pontiac in the General Motors line and Dodge, Jeep, and Chrysler in the Daimler-Chrysler group. In addition to this powerful lineup of vehicles the Bleecker Family of dealerships has one of the largest pre-owned and program vehicle inventories in the southeast.
As the Bleecker Family of Dealerships continues to venture into the 21st century Robert F Bleecker Jr. is moving forward with a plan outlined in a 1990 article in the Fayetteville Observer. Mr Bleecker was quoted as saying “looking into 1991 the company will strive toward being a green dealership, which promotes environmentally sound practices.” This year the Bleecker Family of Dealerships plans to open its first and Flagship Electric Car showroom. Several more dealerships are planned with as many as six electric vehicle brands being offered for sale.
